Each month, the Rotary Club of Bensalem’s Student of the Month program recognizes the unique achievements of two students in the Bensalem School District. To be considered for the honor, students must possess a combination of high academic standards, community involvement and extracurricular activities.
Ahhh….the holidays! They come together in a three-month barrage of celebrations, starting with the scary and ending with the warm and fuzzy, with a big feast full of thanks thrown in the middle. The stores now have Christmas decorations on the rack next to the clearance items from Halloween,
He’s made his list, he’s checked it twice. He already knows who’s been naughty or nice. Now he’s leaving his workshop in the hands of the elves and he’s headed our way all by himself. He’s stopping by to visit us all, so pay him a visit at the local mall. He’s here for the kids, adults and pets too. He’ll even pause for a pancake or two. He’ll be reading stories in the morning and you can visit him in your pj’s at night. And when he’s rides through our neighborhoods on a fire engine, it’s sure to be a sight! So relax! Have no fear! There are many places to see Santa this year! I hope you’ve enjoyed my jolly little rhyme. Don’t tell your kids Santa will be in more than one place at a time!
With just under two weeks to go until Halloween, there’s still plenty of time to visit some of the local Halloween attractions. There’s plenty to do and see this fall in Bensalem and the greater Bucks County area. Whether you’re looking for some family oriented activities, something a little more bone chilling for the teenagers or even some adult’s only fun, there’s definitely something out there for everyone. As you probably know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Just about everyone you talk to has a story that links them to breast cancer in some way. So many women have been diagnosed with breast cancer that it seems everyone knows someone who has battled this terrible disease. With all of the knowledge we have gained about breast cancer from doctors and researchers, why is it that there are still so many women being diagnosed?
