Newtown, PA resident Jamie Greubel is on her way to Sochi, Russia as a member of the US Bobsled Team in a little over two weeks. In 2007, Jamie was introduced to bobsled by a former track and field teammate of hers from Cornell University. From her first trip down the bobsled track, Jamie was hooked on this exhilarating sport. In 2008, she made the national team and competed as a brakeman for two and a half years. She was an alternate for the last Olympic games in Vancouver, soon after which she learned how to drive bobsleds. She has made the 2014 US Bobsled Team as a driver and she and her brakeman, Emily Azevedo, hope to bring home the gold in the 2-man bobsled event. Jamie has emerged as one of the nation’s most promising female pilots going into the 2014 Winter Olympic Games. Good luck Jamie! GO USA!
